Estimates, not quotes

Prices on HVACFIND are estimates from public data and a cost model. They are not offers, quotes or guarantees of what any contractor will charge. Always get a written quote for your home.

The quote check

The check compares a quote with local ranges and public rules. It can be wrong: it can misread a document, and local conditions vary. Confirm what it read, and ask the contractor about anything it flags.

Your contributions

Anonymous prices you add are published only in aggregate. By adding one you allow us to use it in the HVACFIND Price Index under the same license as the index.

Open data

The HVACFIND Price Index is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Credit 'HVACFIND Price Index' with a link.

Acceptable use

  • No automated scraping that degrades the site; use the published data files instead.
  • No submitting other people's personal information.
  • No misrepresenting a verdict as an endorsement.
